“Our Clubhouse is a part of an international network of makerspaces that make themselves accessible to underserved youth in their communities.

We needed some new branding that sets ourselves apart visually in order for youth of Rogers Park, and our Network to check out the accomplishments of our youth.

Athena’s expertise in visual communication and branding has made this possible. She took notes on our visual message we wanted to send that speaks of building community through the use of tech, and this how we received a logo that represents our elite mission.

It was early May of 2016. Me and my fiance (now wife), had just moved into our brand new apartment. Once my wife finished with her magic touches and ‘bookshelves-a-plenty’, I noticed I had a bare living room wall that left my apartment and (apologies for the cliche) my heart a little incomplete. I knew at that moment I needed to fill that void with a little of my own flavor. But what? Who would interprete such a feat? Enter my good friend, Ant. Once I showed my vision to Ant and what the details meant to me, you would have thought we were sharing the same mind. From the characters that I main in Street Fighter 5, to the background of the flag that belongs to the city that I hold just as dear to my heart, I couldn’t have asked for a better representation of who I am, and where I come from. To call the project I received from Ant a ‘painting’ would be gross undersell. It is the light to my lighthouse and my own personal emblem.
